Deck the Halls

Dec. 5
Holland Museum
Join the museum staff and volunteers as they decorate for the holidays. Trim the tree, hang wreaths and enjoy holiday music. Learn how to make paper snowflakes and design your own ornament to hang on the museum lobby tree. Materials will be provided.

Santa Train

Nov. 24 – Dec. 23
Santa’s decorated train leaves the station in downtown Coopersville on Saturdays and Sundays. Santa has a special seat in each historic train car. Elves escort each child for their time with Santa and everyone gets a gift. When Santa is in a different car, The Storytelling Princess reads “The Polar Express.” Enjoy shopping and browsing the decorated streets while your child takes the train or make it a family memory.

Coopersville Nighttime Christmas Parade

Dec. 7
Traveling on Main Street, this is one of Michigan’s first and longest running evening Christmas Parade. The theme of this year’s 38th annual parade is “It’s a Magical Christmas.”

Victorian Tea and Christmas Crafts

Dec. 8
Are you a history buff? Get into the Victorian spirit of Christmas with Victorian Christmas crafts, along with light refreshments at the Coopersville Farm Museum and Event Center.

Caroling in the Park

Caroling around the Yule bonfire with hot chocolate, donut holes and Santa Claus.

The Promise

Dec. 8, 14, 15
Knickerbocker Theatre, Holland
A seasonal staple, The Promise weaves the Christmas story together using scripture and Christmas music along with dynamic, classical and contemporary ballet. This uplifting show is performed by the Turning Pointe School of Dance Performance Ensemble.

Holiday Tours of Felt Mansion

Revel in the historic decorations of this grand mansion. The intricate woodwork and magnificent staircases are legendary, but during the holidays there are 25 decorated Christmas trees and each of them is a vignette of a different historical aspect of the mansion.

The classic Christmas tale featuring the redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge with the help of some lovable London residents and a couple of ghosts.

Praytell Christmas: An Evening of Music with Jo and Valerie Guerra

Dec. 13
Beardsley Theater, Muskegon
An evening of stories and song with Praytell, the musical duo of Jon and Valerie Guerra. These singer/songwriters from Chicago have toured with Amy Grant as well as opened for Vince Gill’s Christmas in Nashville. Stunning voices, superb harmonies and nostalgic harmonies make this a family must!

West Michigan Symphony
Frauenthal Theater, Muskegon
The West Michigan Symphony under the direction of conductor Theresa Cheung is joined by the Reeths Puffer High School Choir and the WMS Children’s Choir performs a host of seasonal favorites from the classics to beloved carols. Truly an evening of Yuletide magic.

The Nutcracker

Dec. 15
Frauenthal Theater, Muskegon
Presented by the West Michigan Youth Ballet, “The Nutcracker” is the story of a little girl named Clara who gets a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. She embarks on a journey through the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets and encounters the frightful rat king on the way. This delightful tale is brought to life by youthful dancers ages 8 – 18 from 12 West Michigan dance studios.

Christmas at the Cappon House

Dec. 16
Holland
Celebrate a Victorian Christmas at the Cappon House. Tour this opulent mansion and learn how Christmas celebrations have changed in the past 100 years. Visitors can help make traditional decorations, sample holiday treats and sing along to Christmas tunes on the piano.
